London’s famous Monument, built to commemorate the Great Fire of London, will be protected internally for many years to come, thanks to earthBorn Silicate Masonry Paint.
A spiral staircase inside the Monument leads visitors to a breathtaking viewing platform. The Portland stone walls required protecting from the effects of 100,000 visitors who make the climb every year.
earthBorn Silicate Masonry Paint is exceptionally long lasting yet highly breathable. It can be washed down to keep it looking fresh; it also resists algae growth.
“We are getting a growing number of enquiries and specifications for Silicate Masonry Paint for historic buildings. It is a high performance alternative to limewash and is recognised by bodies such as the Cathedral Works Organisation,” says earthBorn Market Development Manager Peter Cobbett.
